Spinifex Spree is a Free annual carnival-style event which provides locals with a line up of performers, entertainers, and various attractions. This year's Spinifex Spree will be on Friday, 23 July and Saturday, 24 July at the Town Oval (Turf Club). Friday's session will kick off at 5pm and run till 9pm – while the fun on Saturday will start at 11am and run right till 10pm. So cancel whatever you had planned, because you’re in for a treat this July.

COVID-19 Precautions
Keep Hedland COVIDSafe by:
- Staying home from the event if you’re feeling unwell
- Keeping hands clean with onsite facilities
- Covering coughs and sneezes with your elbow
- Maintaining physical distancing and avoid unnecessary physical contact with others
It is mandatory for all attendees 16 years of age or older to check in upon entry. Attendees have the option to scan in via the SafeWA QR code or paper based contact register.
Accessibility
This event is accessible for attendees in wheelchairs or those using prams. The venue has an accessible toilet with a baby changing table, parking facilities, accessible viewing area of the stage and assisted listening devices can be signed out from the Information Desk. A sensory stall will also be available throughout the event which is free for community members to utilise.

Parking
The Main Parking Zone for the event is located within the Town Oval, please follow the instructions from on site Traffic Officers to navigate to available parking. Overflow parking is also available within the vicinity. All attendees are to access parking via McGregor Street. Please refer to Event Transportation Map for more information.
Toilets
Toilets are located at the top and bottom of the event grounds – Please refer to the Detailed Event Map for more information.
Food & Drinks
The event will include an array of local and visiting food and beverage vendors which will be trading throughout the event (unless sold out).
Please note that there will be no free drinking water available at the event.
ATM Facilities
Stallholders are encouraged to provide cash and card payment methods. In the case, attendees require cash, the closest ATM is located at the Port Hedland Boulevard Shopping Centre on the corner of McGregor and Wilson Street.
Seating
A limited number of tables and chairs will be available at the event. Attendees planning on staying at the event for a long duration of time are encouraged to bring their own camp chairs/picnic rugs.
Shade
Shade will be provided in the food area. If you are attending the event during daylight hours, remember to slip on a long sleeved shirt, slop on sunscreen, slap on a hat, seek shade, slide on sunglasses and ensure you drink plenty of water.
Fireworks
The fireworks display will commence at 8:00pm on Saturday, 24 July. Pet owners are advised to keep their pets indoors during this time if possible.
Pets
Please keep your pets at home, unfortunately pets will not be allowed to enter the event, with the exception of service animals.
The unexpected noise and bright lights that fireworks produce can cause animal distress. We advise all community members to keep an eye on your pets during the display. Here are some helpful tips for managing your pets:
- Ensure your pets have exercised and been fed before the display
- Keep your pets indoors if possible
- Distract your pets with games/ food
- Ensure your pets are microchipped in case they run off
Safety
If you have any questions, have lost something or someone, or need medical attention, please approach one of our friendly event staff or visit the Information Desk. In the event of an emergency follow the directions of Event Staff.
Containers for Change
Please dispose of your litter in the appropriate bins provided.
Containers for Change receptacles will be onsite in the food area. We encourage all attendees to utilise these and if unsure, please ask one of the onsite volunteers for assistance. Funds from containers will be donated to Care for Hedland.
Dump Points
Please be advised that the RV Overflow Waste Dump Point, located off McGregor Street in Port Hedland, will be temporarily closed between Friday, 23 July 2021 and Saturday, 24 July 2021.
An alternative dump point is available at the South Hedland Landfill, located on North Circular Road in South Hedland. This facility is open from 7.30am-4.15pm on Friday and 8.00am-3.45pm on Saturday. Please do not take caravans into the facility.
