The Act regulates the sale, supply and consumption of liquor. However, there are a number of situations where the sale, supply and consumption of liquor is specifically exempted from the application of the Act. Such situations involve small amounts of liquor supplied in controlled environments and social situations where relatively few people are in attendance.https://www.dlgsc.wa.gov.au/department/publications/publication/exemptions-to-the-liquor-control-act-1988-policyThe ‘small functions’ exemption:Less than 100 people - no longer than two hours; orLess than 75 people - no longer than four hours; andEvent finishes BEFORE 10:00 PMIf your event does not meet the above requirements of "small functions" you will be required to apply for an Occasional Liquor License.

If YES, the ‘Hiring Organisation’ must also obtain a function Permit/Licence from the Clerk of Courts, Hawke Place, South Hedland (Ph: 08 9172 9300) or online at www.rgl.wa.gov.au.
