The Ship to Shore Community Fun Run returns in August to Port Hedland for a third year.

The Town of Port Hedland has partnered with the Pilbara Ports Authority and the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries to deliver a free, family-friendly event, suitable for all fitness levels and ages.

Mayor Peter Carter said it was a great opportunity for the community to come together and get involved in a fun and free event that promoted positive health and wellbeing.

“Fitness is important to the Hedland community, and it's fantastic we can deliver an event that not only promotes wellbeing but also social connection." Mayor Carter said

“The Town is committed to providing a wide range of events for the community to enjoy. Events like this help promote Hedland as a thriving, resilient, and inclusive community.”

The 6km fun-run, will start from Cemetery Beach Park at 7.30am on Saturday, 10 August.

Participants who prefer to take things a little easier can complete the 3km half-course with a walk or jog from 8:00am.

Pilbara Ports General Manager, Phil Christy, said the team was excited to partner with the Town again this year.

“The Port Hedland community is really special, and events like this are a great way for everyone to connect and enjoy the beautiful place they call home.” Mr Christy said.

“We hope that everyone registers and comes along on the day to take part in what will be a fun-filled event, which is suitable for all members of the family.”

This year, everyone who registers will receive a limited edition, branded Ship to Shore T-shirt.

Registrations are free and are now open. To sign up, head to: https://raceroster.com/events/2024/90164/ship-to-shore-2024-community-fun-run
