General
1. The Scheme is being run by the Town of Port Hedland, 13 McGregor Street, Port Hedland ('Town') (ABN 19 220 085 226) during the Promotional Period.
2. Application for the Home Safety and Security Rebate Scheme (‘Scheme’) commences at 12:01am on 22 August 2021 AWST and concludes at 11:59pm on 30 June 2022 AWST this will form the Promotional Period (‘Promotional Period’).
3. Information on Scheme eligibility and other details contained within promotional advertisements for the Scheme forms part of the T&C.
4. By applying to access the Scheme, Participants agree to abide by the T&C.
5. The Rebate is not transferable.
6. The T&C of the Scheme are governed by the laws of the State of Western Australia.
7. Application to access the Scheme is free. Participants will be responsible for all costs associated to be eligible for the Scheme, which includes but not limited to the installation and the operation of the safety and security products (‘Products’), and the utilisation of the Rebate.
Eligibility
8. The Scheme is only available to residents in relation to residential properties (’Property’) in the Port Hedland local government district (‘Participants’) – evidence of residency will be required upon application.
9. The and have successfully accessed the State Governments Seniors Safety and Security Rebate.
10. To apply to access the Scheme, Participants must complete and return the Town prescribed Application Form (‘Application Form’) during the Promotional Period.
11. The Scheme is available for the purchase of Products and / or the installation of new Approved Products on the Property (internally and externally) after 22 August 2021 and before 30 June 2022 only.
12. Purchase of Products and the installation of new Approved Products must be from local suppliers within the Port Hedland local government district – proof of purchase and installation will be required upon application.
13. The Application Form is available electronically through the Town’s website.
14. Completed Application Form will only be received during the Promotional Period through the following methods:
(a) postal mail: Town of Port Hedland, PO Box 41, Port Hedland WA 6721;
(b) electronically via email: communitysafety@porthedland.wa.gov.au; or
(c) in-person to the Town of Port Hedland Civic Centre, 13 McGregor, Port Hedland WA 6721 between 8:00am and 4:00pm weekdays.
Criteria
15. To access the Scheme, participants must:
(a) complete and return the Application Form during the Promotional Period;
(b) not submit more than one Application Form per household – additional Application Form will be considered;
(c) provide proof of current Western Australia Seniors Card holder;
(d) provide proof of successfully accessing the State Governments Safety and Security Rebate
(e) either be the owner of the Property, or must provide written consent from the ratepayer of the Property to apply to access the Scheme;
(f) provide proof of purchase of Approved Products, proof of installation of new Approved Products and proof of finalisation of payment;
(g) for CCTV only, provide proof of registration of CCTV system with CAM-Map WA – for more information please refer to: https://www.police.wa.gov.au/Your-Safety/State-CCTV-Register; and
(h) for electrical installation work, provide proof of installation by local Port Hedland local government district licensed electrician.
Rebate
16. The Rebate available for the Promotional Period are as follows (‘Rebate’):
(a) 50% of the total cost of the Approved Products and installation, up to the value of $400 for the Approved Product claimed under the Scheme.
17. The Town has the absolute discretion regarding the provision of the Rebate which includes but not limited to the installation and the operation of the Products.
Approved Products
18. The supply and/or installation after 22 August 2021 and before 30 June 2022 of the following new products by local suppliers and/or installers in the Port Hedland local government district are approved by the Town for the Scheme (‘Approved Products’):
(a) home alarm and CCTV system (wireless and hardwired);
(b) security door screen;
(c) security window screens;
(d) security window shutters;
(e) residual current device;
(f) security sensor light;
(g) deadlocks;
(h) wi-fi video doorbell;
(i) mains powered smoke alarm;
(j) fire extinguisher; and
(k) fire blanket.
Indemnification
19. By applying and accessing the Scheme, the Participant agrees to hold harmless, defend and indemnify the Town from and against any and all claims, demands, liability, damages or causes of action (however named or described), losses, consequential losses, costs or expenses, with respect to or arising out of or related to (i) access to the Scheme, or (ii) participation in any Scheme / Rebate related activities, acceptance of the Rebate and/or use or misuse of a Rebate (including, without limitation, any loss, property loss, damage, personal injury or death caused to any person(s).
Third Parties
20. By entering and participating in the Scheme, the Participant agrees to hold harmless, defend and indemnify third parties including but not limited to WA Police, Facebook and / or Government of Western Australia Department of Communities and Western Australia Senior Card Centre from and against any and all claims, demands, liability, damages or causes of action (however named or described), losses, costs or expenses, with respect to or arising out of or related to (i) participation in the Scheme, or (ii) participation in any Scheme / Rebate related activities, acceptance of a Rebate and/or use or misuse of a Rebate (including, without limitation, any loss, property loss, damage, personal injury or death caused to any person(s).
21. This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with WA Police, Facebook, Government of Western Australia Department of Communities and Western Australia Senior Card Centre / or other third parties.
Variation
22. In the event of any conflicting provisions, this T&C takes precedence over the advertised information.
Acceptance
23. This T&C was last updated on 1st December 2021 and will not be changed, modified, or otherwise altered while the Promotional Period is ongoing. Application and participation in the Scheme is a complete acceptance of the T&C.

1. The Town Home Safety and Security Prize Draw 2021/22 (‘Prize Draw’) is conducted by the Town of Port Hedland, 13 McGregor Street, Port Hedland (‘Town’) (ABN 19 220 085 226) during the Promotional Period.
2. Only completed Entry Tickets by participants (‘Participants’) who have met the eligibility criteria will be eligible to enter in the Prize Draw during the Promotional Period for a chance to win a prize (‘Prize’) in the draw (‘Prize Draw’) on Draw Date.
3. The Prize Draw commences at 12:01am on 10th December 2021 AWST and concludes at 11:59pm at 21st January 2022 AWST (‘Promotional Period’).
4. Information on how to enter the Prize Draw and other details contained within promotional advertisements for this Prize Draw forms part of the T&C.
5. By entering the Prize Draw, Participants agree to abide by the T&C.
6. The Prize is not transferable.
7. The Prize Draw is a game of chance and the winning Participant (‘Winner’) will be drawn at random on Draw Date and will be contacted by the Town at the earliest practicable date.
8. The T&C of the Competition are governed by the laws of the State of Western Australia.
9. Entering to the Prize Draw is free. Participants will be responsible for all costs associated with entering the Prize Draw, which includes but not limited to the utilisation of the Prize.
Eligibility

11. The Participant must be a current Western Australia Seniors Card holder.
12. To enter the Prize Draw, Participants must complete and return the Town prescribed Entry Ticket (‘Entry Ticket’) during the Promotional Period.
13. Entry Tickets are available online, and in hard copy from the Town’s Civic Centre during normal business hours during the Promotional Period.
14. Completed Entry Tickets will only be received during the Promotional Period through the following methods:
(a) online: via Entry Ticket platform
(b) postal mail: Town of Port Hedland, PO Box 41, Port Hedland WA 6721
(c) electronically via email: communitysafety@porthedland.wa.gov.au; or
(d) in-person to the Town’s Civic Centre, 13 McGregor, Port Hedland WA 6721 between 8:00am and 4:00pm weekdays
Criteria
15. To enter the Prize Draw, Participants must:
(a) complete and return the completed Entry Ticket during the Promotional Period
(b) provide proof of current Western Australia Seniors Card holder
(c) provide proof of residential address in the Town of Port Hedland local government district
(d) the Participant cannot be an employee of the Town, or a member of that employee’s immediate family;[1] and
(e) cannot be an employee of any agencies associated with this competition, or a member of that employee’s immediate family.[2]
[1] Immediate family means parents, children, siblings, spouse or defacto partner residing at the same residential address as the employee.

Prize
16. The Prize available for the Competition is a Uniden GDVR 10440 (RRP $399.95)
17. The Prize is non-transferable and non-exchangeable.
18. Evidence of residency will be required upon Prize collection.
19. In the event of ineligibility or forfeiture of Prize, it is at the Town’s discretion to conduct a redraw of the forfeited Prize(s).
20. The Winner will be announced on the Town’s Facebook page on 24th January 2022 or the earliest practicable date. (the ‘Announcement Date’).
21. The Town will contact the Prize Winner by the email address and / or contact number supplied by the Participant on the Entry Ticket; and
(a) in the event that the Prize Winner is uncontactable, or the Prize does not collect their prize within 14 calendar days (or as otherwise agreed) from the Town, that Participant is assumed to have forfeited their Prize; and
(b) It is at the Town’s discretion to conduct a redraw of the forfeited Prize(s).
Selection
22. The winning Entry Ticket is drawn at random at 11am on 24th January 2022 (‘Draw Date’) at 13 McGregor Street, Port Hedland, witnessed by a panel from the Town which consists of at least three people. Members of the public may attend to witness the prize draw.
Publicity
23. The Participant grants the Town permission to publicly reference their name and / or photograph for publicity purposes without payment of additional consideration, except where prohibited by law.
24. Personal information provided for the purpose of entering in the Prize Draw will be collected, used, and disclosed in accordance with the relevant privacy laws.
Indemnification
25. By entering and participating in the Prize Draw, the Participants agree to hold harmless, defend and indemnify the Town from and against any and all claims, demands, liability, damages or causes of action (however named or described), losses, consequential losses, costs or expenses, with respect to or arising out of or related to (i) participation in the Prize Draw, or (ii) participation in any Prize Draw or Prize related activities, acceptance of a Prize and/or use or misuse of a Prize (including, without limitation, any loss, property loss, damage, personal injury or death caused to any person(s).

27. This Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with Facebook, Government of Western Australia Department of Communities and Western Australia Senior Card Centre / or other third parties.
Records
28. Records relating to this Prize Draw will be maintained for a period of not less than twelve months from conclusion of the Prize Draw and shall be made available to authorised officers upon request.
Variation
29. In the event of any conflicting provisions, this T&C takes precedence over the advertised information.
Acceptance
30. This T&C was last updated on 2nd December 2021 and will not be changed, modified, or otherwise altered while the Prize Draw is ongoing. Entering in the Prize Draw is a complete acceptance of the T&C.
