The Town of Port Hedland proudly presents Have a Try Night, a FREE bi-annual event in Hedland for everyone aged 5-17 to try out a number of different sports which run across Town, introducing them to range of options to develop a healthy and active lifestyle. Popular sports include water polo, cricket and basketball. It's also a great opportunity for clubs to raise awareness of their activities and drive memberships.
Due to COVID-Safe Restrictions, numbers will be capped at 120 per/session – To avoid disappointment, please pre-register by 12pm on Friday, Sep 3.
This event is run in conjunction with the Department of Local Government, Sports and Cultural Industries.

What should I bring?

What should my child wear?
Please ensure that your children have clothes appropriate for both aquatic and non-aquatic sports activities, as well as closed-toe shoes suitable for running – There is time allotted to changing clothes between activities.
What should I expect when I arrive?
When you arrive, please proceed to the Information Desk at the entrance so that your children can be given a group based on age – You'll then be directed to your first station and rotate between the various sports clubs.
