More than 3800 tonnes of asphalt will be laid on roads across the Town of Port Hedland network over the next month as part of the 2022-23 road reseal program.
The program started last week with work at Koojarra Crescent, Grogan Place, Ashburton Court, Marra Court, Nyanda Place, Eucla Close, Tecoma Way and Souey Court.
It will continue in November with works on Pecten Way, Cowrie Way, Abalone Way, Murex Way, Driver Way, Pedlar Street, Daylesford Road, Steamer Avenue and Athol Street.
The program is part of the Town’s commitment to reinvest in Hedland’s core infrastructure assets, providing drivers with a connected and well-maintained road network.
Town of Port Hedland Acting Chief Executive, Craig Watts, said the program was part of the Town’s $2 million budget allocation for road resealing in 2022/23.
“We are committed to building on the positive steps we’ve taken in recent years to upgrade Hedland’s road network,” Mr Watts said.
“More than 3800 tonnes of asphalt will be laid on roads across Hedland in October and November, giving residents and businesses a high standard of road amenity.
“I ask all road users to slow down around road works, abide by signage and be mindful of workers in the vicinity of impacted roads.”
