The Town of Port Hedland will be offering free kerbside collections to allow people to dispose of green waste from Cyclone Zelia.
Residents are being asked to leave green waste on their kerbsides now, with collections to start in Port Hedland on Monday 17 February.
Branches should be kept as long and straight as possible to allow for machine feeding, however please ensure debris does not cause any obstruction to roads, pathways, and building infrastructure.
Please ensure you only leave green waste for collection. All other commercial or household rubbish should be taken to South Hedland Landfill.
The landfill has reopened on Saturday, 15 February with extended hours, closing at 4pm. The landfill will also be open on Sunday, 16 February.
An assessment of the Town has been completed and crews are currently clearing roads and footpaths on a scale of urgency. Please be patient as we attend and clear all areas as needed.
