Published on Thursday, 25 July 2024 at 10:52:20 AM

The annual Spinifex Spree Carnival is back over 26-27 July featuring an array of family activities and entertainment.

Returning after a successful debut last year, Loco Lounge features award-winning performances from Perth and Adelaide Fringe Festival winners to Edinburgh Fringe Festival awardees.

Set in an incredible spiegeltent for the full circus experience, the exclusive ticketed Loco Lounge shows include Laser Kiwi, Yuck Circus, Lunar Circus and Joel Salom with Erik the Robot Dog.

Mayor Peter Carter emphasised the importance of events like the Spinifex Spree and Loco Lounge in fostering community spirit.

“Events play a crucial role in shaping the liveability of a community – especially communities in regional locations like Hedland,” Mayor Carter said.

“We are proud to host the Spinifex Spree Carnival and Loco Lounge to help bring our community together, build connections, and also support our local economy.”

Mayor Peter Carter said that the community was embracing event season across the town.

“There is great excitement in the air - Spinifex Spree is a firm favourite in our community with popular rides, Eat Street, marketplace and fireworks.

“To have Loco Lounge return this year is a great addition – I encourage people to get along to a show or two, and experience some comedy, acrobatics, unique circus acts, and plenty of wow factor.”

Spinifex Spree is supported by: Presenting Partner BHP, Platinum Sponsor Horizon Power, Bronze Sponsor Monadelphous, and additional supporters Cleanaway, FuelFix, and QUBE.

The return of the Loco Lounge is made possible by Waypoint Village, and the community workshop program is supported by the Australian Government Regional Arts Fund.
