Register your interest in the Spoilbank Marina's landside activation

Published on Wednesday, 19 January 2022 at 4:15:30 PM

The Town and Pilbara Ports Authority invite interested parties to submit a Registration of Interest (ROI) for the Spoilbank Marina’s landside activation.

The $187.5 million Marina will transform the region’s boating and recreational amenity for the future, expected to be operational in 2023. Landside activation will bring the Marina’s waterfront promenade to life, providing unrivalled economic, social and communal benefits to Hedland’s liveability.

The ROIs will inform a needs analysis for the Marina’s land side design, with submissions open until Wednesday 16 February 2022.

Landside uses may include shared community space, commercial space, caravan parks, short stay accommodation, commercial pop-ups, hospitality, maintenance hardstand and more.

Mayor Peter T Carter encouraged interested parties to submit an ROI.

“The $187.5 million Spoilbank Marina is set to transform Hedland’s boating and recreational amenity, featuring a four-lane boat ramp, 21 boat pen marina and brand-new landside activation opportunities.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for businesses to register their interest in being part of this project, which will also include public recreation and event space, public amenities and a waterfront promenade reflecting the Yintha Kariyarra creation serpent story.

“ROIs bring the perspective of interested businesses to the detailed design table, helping align with the aspirations and sentiment of the community.”
