Hedland neighbourhoods will be light and bright again as the Town of Port Hedland’s annual Festival Lights competition returns for 2024.
The competition celebrates the festive season by encouraging households to get creative with lighting and decorative displays.
There is $4000 in cash prizes on offer this year including:
- Best Display ($1500)
- Runner-up Best Display ($750)
- People’s Choice ($750)
- Best First Year Entry ($750)
- Entrant Encouragement ($250).
Registrations officially opened on 13 November, with people able to register their homes online, even if the displays are not finished.
Displays need to be complete by 8 December for judging.
An interactive map will be available from 6 December to allow people the chance to pinpoint all the displays and track a route to see them all.
Mayor Peter Carter said the Festive Season was a time to bring the community together.
“The Festive Lights competition is a terrific way for people to get out and about to check out the amazing displays right across Hedland,” he said.
“It’s a great way for kids and families to spread the festive cheer and the joy the amazing displays bring to neighbourhoods.”
Festive Lights 2024 is proudly supported by sponsor Horizon Power and media partner North West Telegraph.
Registrations are open until 4 December and can be found at https://hed.la/FestiveLights
