As a part of the Town’s ongoing commitment to provide the community with access to facilities and services that promote a healthy and active lifestyle, the Town will soon commence refurbishment works at Wanangkura Stadium.
These works will expand the available gym area to better meet the needs of Hedland’s growing population and help accommodate the installation of new equipment.
Gym expansion works will take 4 weeks, starting on Monday, 7 August.
On completion, new equipment will be installed, and all staff will undergo extensive training on the new equipment, before the facility will be reopened to the community in September.
While works are ongoing, members will not be charged, with the facilities at Gratwick Fitness Centre and Gratwick Aquatic Centre available for free to members.
Courts and function areas at the Stadium will not generally be affected, however there may be minor disruptions to accommodate construction.
