The Town's Grants Program has been expanded to offer opportunities for businesses, not-for-profit organisations and community groups.

A rebate to Hedland tenants and owners of residential properties for the installation of approved home safety and security products.

Economic Development & Diversification Fund

Supports local businesses and organisations to generate new revenue opportunities through the development of feasibility studies and businesses cases.

Funding priorities

Applications for projects and initiatives that meet the following objectives will be considered for funding:

  • Revitalise public spaces
  • Encourage sustainable economic growth, job creation and improved liveability in Hedland
  • Initiatives and programs supporting environmental, sustainability and conservation outcomes.
  • Deliver inclusive responses to meet the needs of people at risk or experiencing social isolation in the community
  • Alignment to the Town of Port Hedland strategic plans 

APPLYing for funding

To apply you will need to:

  • Show achievable objectives and clear benefits for the community in line with the criteria of the specific grant under which the application is submitted
  • Complete the online application form within SmartyGrants
  • Make sure you have relevant quotes and all supporting documentation
  • Please note GST is not applicable

Acknowledgement of the Town of Port Hedland

  • Applicants are to acknowledge the Town, through means such as advertising, promotion and any media publicity associated with any project, event or initiative.
  • Applicants will be required to provide evidence of the use and expenditure of the approved grants through an audit process.
  • The Town of Port Hedland logo will be provided via email, upon receipt of the signed agreement or receipt of the outcome confirmation letter and must be used as stipulated in the accompanying guide.
  • All marketing and promotional material must be approved by the Town of Port Hedland prior to being distributed.  Details of how to gain this approval will be sent with the logos.  Details of these acknowledgments must be included as part of the acquittal of funds.
  • The Town of Port Hedland is entitled to publicise financial support provided to applicants for their project, event or initiatives.
  • Applicants may be asked to provide images to feature in stories in various publications and online sites.
  • In addition, funding recipients must also ensure that the Town’s positive reputation is maintained at all times
