Feral Cats

If you have a stray, or wondering cat problem in your neighbourhood we would first ask that you speak to your neighbours to find out if the problem cats are their pets. If this is not the case and you believe the cats to be stray and nuisance cats, Ranger Services offer cat traps to be hired by the community to help eliminate this growing issue.

Cat traps are hired out free of charge. However, if a cat trap is damaged or lost, you will incur a $250.00 fee. 

When a cat has been trapped please call Ranger Services on 9158 9300 between 8:00am and 4:30pm weekdays for the cat to be collected. 

Once we have finished with the trap, this will be returned to you for the rest of the hired period.

Cat trapping will be conducted Monday to Friday and will be collected prior to weekends or public holidays. 

Whilst the cat is in your care it is your responsibility to keep the trap in shade, cover the trap to calm the animal and if possible give it water.

If any wildlife is caught in the trap you must release the animal as soon as possible or seek professional advice if necessary.
